Let’s call it… a passion project, an academic interest, the monster that is consuming me. Medical Gothic is both a work of creative/performance art and a framework through which I approach the Gothic genre of literature.
Medical Gothic is a way of thinking about the everyday terror of the medical institution, the unfair treatment of marginalized bodies and their inhabitants in medicine, and the euphoria of finding belonging among others who embrace the medical uncanny.

Robin (or “creatur”) holds a B.A. in English from Clark University, with minors in Biology and Creative Writing.
They placed first in the 2020 Betty ’79 and Stanley Sultan Short Story Contest and received the 2024 Virginia Mason Vaughan Prize for Most Outstanding Honors Thesis.
