The Birth of an Era

I am pleased to announce that I have made my website public! I have been working on this project for a few months now, gathering my works, designing the website, checking links, breaking links, fixing links, somehow breaking links again, and spending so, so much time debating whether or not to connect this site to my LinkedIn. The jury is still out on that one.

I spent the last couple years of my undergraduate degree living and breathing Medical Gothic in what felt like an incredibly niche bubble, populated by me, my advisors, and my two friends who were so often subjected to my late night ramblings and nonsensical theories. Sharing this website feels like exposing a soft, fleshy part of myself that may not have ever been meant to see the light. See-through skin revealing the inner workings of me. Red, lumpy masses that reveal that I am not a machine; that I feel, that I ache, that I yearn and think and fall and fail and get back up with scraped knees.

On this site you will find the entire spectrum of my work on Medical Gothic, from the overly-researched essay that borders on becoming the very self-proclaimed “expert” which it criticizes, to the abstract, interpretive art(?) of the Medical Gothic zine. I hope that you find something here which resonates with you.
